Professor Frédéric Bibeau

Pathologist at University Hospital of Besançon, France

"I am proud to be collaborating with Owkin, an innovative company in the field of AI in health. Our pilot project aims to evaluate the effectiveness and reliability of the centralization and digitalization of pathology slides, using the MSIntuit CRC tool. This collaboration offers opportunities for research laboratories and allows us to test novel AI tools in the real-world context of precision medicine, particularly in oncology.

I am convinced that the interface between AI and health will become essential for the care of patients in a precision medicine framework. Owkin offers several solutions that would enable us to be more responsive in terms of patient selection, to maintain an efficient diagnostic flow, and to deliver timely information to clinicians for patient care.

If our pilot project proves to be effective and reliable, it could be an opportunity for research laboratories that are not yet fully digitalized to benefit from AI tools, notably MSIntuit CRC. The expected benefits of our collaboration with Owkin are:

  • A close partnership to enable novel AI tool testing to help refine tool development
  • The opportunity to validate the use of AI tools in real-world situations
  • The opportunity to propose projects that are uniquely tailored to our research setting to drive precision medicine.

As a surgical pathologist, I am passionate about the convergence of clinical reasoning at the tissue level and research. My daily work consists of training and innovating, which fits perfectly with the notion of therapeutic care in the context of increasingly precise and personalized medicine. I am proud to contribute to innovation and education in this constantly evolving field."
