Isabelle graduated from Ecole Polytechnique and Ecole des Mines de Paris. She joined SFR in 2006, where she held various finance and strategy positions, including Finance Director and Chief of Staff. Before joining Owkin she was Deputy CEO at Econocom France. Isabelle is an Independent Board Member and Member of the Audit Committee at COFACE. In 2013, 2014 and 2015 she was listed in The Figaro’s Top 100 French future leaders.
Prior to joining Owkin, Michaël served as Chief Information Officer of the Pasteur Institute for seven years. He led the Information Systems Department, managing sensitive data and infrastructure for 130 research units including 1600 scientists. He also was tasked with leading the design and implementation of the bioinformatics center and community for the Parisian campus and Pasteur Institute’s international network.
Louise graduated from EMLYON Business School with a degree in corporate finance. Before joining Owkin, she worked at Deloitte as a financial auditor, serving companies of different sizes, from French SMEs to international tech companies.
Guillaume graduated from SKEMA Business School with a specialization in Human Resources Management. Prior to joining Owkin, he worked for nine years at Valeo, where he held several positions in HR in different environments (including R&D, Industrial and Sales & Marketing), in both operational and HQ levels, with local and international scopes in France and Germany.
Jean-Frédéric is an engineer by training, with a dual degree from Ecole polytechnique and Oxford. Prior to joining Owkin, Jean-Frédéric was an Innovation Manager at Roche, leveraging new technology to develop integrated solutions that would improve patient outcomes. He led Epidemium, an open science initiative to crowdsource cancer research, as well as open innovation projects with top healthtech startups to develop software medical device solutions, such as MSCopilot for MS patients.
Michèle graduated as a pharmacist at Paris Descartes University, and after leading the clinical research studies unit at the liver transplantation ward in Hospital Paul Brousse in France, she moved into clinical research in the pharmaceutical industry. Michèle then completed a Master from ESSEC and worked for Cegedim Strategic Data, Quintiles and Parexel in roles involving business development with pharmaceuticals and biotech companies.
Sanjay is a practicing physician. He holds Medical Sciences and Medical degrees from Oxford University and a Masters Degree from Cambridge University, as well as Membership of the Royal College of Physicians. Sanjay has research experience in neuroimaging, epidemiology and digital health. Prior to joining Owkin as a Partnership Manager, he was a Senior Associate at Boston Consulting Group, where he focused on data and digital in healthcare. He sits on the Patient Safety Committee at the Royal Society of Medicine and was previously a Specialist Advisor at the Care Quality Commission.
Victor graduated from Imperial College London as a chemical engineer (MEng, 2011) and completed a masters in bioscience enterprise at the University of Cambridge (MPhil, 2012). He founded Desktop Genetics, a company developing AI technology for CRISPR genome editing. In 2018, he led the acquisition of Desktop Genetics, following which he remained with the Celixir group for a year to ensure a complete transition. Since July 2019, Victor has been consulting for life science companies and funds on the topics of CRISPR, genome editing, next generation sequencing and venture creation.
David joined Owkin from Institut Curie, where he worked as a generalist Legal Counsel with a focus on new technologies and acquisition of biomedical devices. Prior to Institut Curie, David spent four and a half years as an attorney at Institut Pasteur. He spent one and a half years focusing on research collaborations and implementation of clinical trials and then specialized in new technologies.
Prior to joining Owkin’s New York office, Charlotte was a lawyer admitted to the Paris Bar. After graduating from University Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas, CEIPI Strasbourg and HEDAC, she practiced commercial litigation and intellectual property law for 5 years, before moving to New York. She is now a Legal Counsel at Owkin.
A graduate of the University of Virginia and the NYU Stern School of Business, Radha brings deep knowledge of the healthcare industry. As an advertising executive at Area 23, she managed award-winning marketing campaigns for blockbuster medications. She then advised top-20 pharmaceutical companies on everything from asset commercialization to market access, as a Consultant at Acsel Health. She is now Senior Strategy Manager at Owkin.
Sebastian graduated from HEC Paris and Ecole pPolytechnique with a double degree in Data Science for Business. He also holds a Bachelor in Applied Mathematics from Université Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne. His interest for life sciences developed when working Medtech and Biotech deals at Oddo BHF’s investment banking division. After working at Amazon as a Business Analyst, he joined Owkin’s Strategy team as an intern in New York, and then moved into a full-time position as a Strategy Manager in Paris.
Philippe graduated from Centralesupelec and Université Paris Saclay with a double degree in Biotech Engineering. After co-founding SeConfier.com, an online platform for psychological support, he joined Gustave Roussy, the premier European Cancer center. Here he worked on AI research projects and strategic development as Manager of the AI Business Unit.
Antonia holds a degree in Cancer Biology and Immunology from The University of Bristol and has over ten years of medical marketing experience. She has successfully led the launch of two products from proof of concept through to commercialisation. Most recently as marketing manager for TargEDys in Paris, launching EnteroSatys, a second-generation probiotic that uses bacterial metabolites to send signals of satiety to the brain via the gut-brain axis. And previously, The OriCol Microbiome Sampling Kit, an innovative medical device that collects rectal mucosa for microbiome analysis. In addition to these two roles, she has worked at other companies in the Loxbridge Group, which is a biotechnology focused venture capital investor and investment manager.
Marina graduated from the University of Buenos Aires with a degree in biological sciences. She began her career at the Fundación Instituto Leloir in Buenos Aires. After completing her PhD and postdoc studies in Paris she joined the FINDMED initiative, contributing to the setup of the project and participating in the establishment of research partnerships between French academic research labs and companies. Before joining Owkin, Marina held the position of business development and industrial partnerships manager at Gustave Roussy Transfert, working on collaborations between Gustave Roussy and industrial or academic partners.
After graduating from Polytech Clermont-Ferrand and the University of Oklahoma with degrees in Biomedical Engineering, Etienne began his career developing collaborative research partnerships between French research institutes and Bay Area biotech companies. He then joined the CALYM Institute in Lyon as Business Development Manager, accelerating collaborative research in lymphoma, before further pursuing his career in Geneva, Switzerland as a BD and Licensing Manager for Selexis. He is now a Partnership Manager at Owkin.
Amandine currently works as a Partnership Manager at Owkin. She holds a PharmD from Université Paris Sud and a MSc in Innovation Management from Ecole polytechnique. Passionate about health technology, she previously developed a patient-centric digital tool to address stress caused by chronic diseases at UCB Pharma. She also supported a New York based startup to assess market opportunities and optimize data management for other biotechs.
Sonia graduated from HEC Paris with a specialization in Strategy and has worked in finance in Singapore, London and Paris. She has taken an active interest in entrepreneurship, having created her own business during her last year at HEC Paris. After her three-year experience as Operations Officer at Brand and Celebrities / Kolsquare, she joined Owkin as an Operations Manager.
Lydwine holds an MSc in Business Analytics at Imperial College London as well as a BSc in Business Engineering from UCL in Belgium. During her studies she completed internships in various industries including consulting, FMCG and logistics. As a former medical student, she remains passionate about health and technology and therefore decided to start her career in the Operations team at Owkin.
Zanago graduated from Paris-Est University with a degree in management of tourism and local development. Prior to joining Owkin, she worked for tour operators and event organizers. She is now the Paris Office Manager.
Priscilla began her career as an office administrator for a design company, where she worked for ten years. There, she helped build the company’s health and wellness program, championing the employee experience. She joined the start-up world by working at an education tech company and enjoyed the fast-paced work environment. Priscilla is now the Office Manager of Owkin’s New York office.
Chloé holds two degrees, one in Social Work from the University of Rennes 2 and the second in Sustainable Tourism and Local Development from the University of Avignon. Before joining Owkin, she worked in international tourism, and in community centres in Nantes. She also worked for the coworking space where the Nantes Owkin team is growing.
Matahi graduated from Ecole polytechnique and ENS before completing his PhD in Machine Learning for Computational Biology at Mines ParisTech / Curie Institute. He moved to New York as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Research focusing on the genetics of leukemia before joining Owkin. He is now the Translational Research Group Lead.
Prior to joining Owkin, David co-founded and managed the AI & Machine Learning department of Wavestone, a global consulting firm, advising leading companies in their AI strategies. David started his career as a business and strategy consultant. He graduated from Télécom SudParis and specialized in AI at the University of Science and Technology of Hong Kong. He is now Owkin’s Head of Pharma R&D Projects.
After graduating from Ecole polytechnique, Benoît obtained a PhD in Theoretical Physics at CEA and Université Paris 6. Afterwards, he worked for three years as a Data Scientist at Dreamquark. Strongly motivated by machine learning applications in medicine, he joined Owkin’s Histology and Molecular team as a Senior Data Scientist.
Charles graduated from both Ecole polytechnique and Ecole Normale Supérieure. He previously worked at the Stanford Research Institute where he conducted research in the Artificial Intelligence Center. He now works as a Data Scientist on Owkin’s Histology and Molecular team.
Charlie obtained a degree in Applied Mathematics at Université Paris Dauphine and graduated from Ecole Normale Supérieure. He joined Owkin as a Data Scientist on the Histology and Molecular team.
Oumeima has a radiology degree from The Medical School of Tunisia, a MSc in Image Processing in Medicine from The Paris Sud University, a second MSc in Radiophysics from The Angers Universities France and a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from the A*Star Agency for Science, Technology and Research in Singapore (in collaboration with the Sorbonne Universities). Her research approach is multidisciplinary, including image processing, experimental design/analysis and neural network design. Her research was aimed to enhance new therapies in cancer research.
Nicolas has been working with deep learning since 2009. Prior to joining Owkin as a Senior Data Scientist, Nicolas worked at ContexVision where he developed their end-to-end deep learning infrastructure. The infrastructure reached a top score on the CAMELYON17 challenge and is now being used in clinical routine as a decision support tool for pathologists.
Paul graduated from Ecole polytechnique and Mines ParisTech where he specialized in Applied Mathematics and Biotechnologies. He also graduated from ENS Cachan in Machine Learning and Computer Vision (MVA). He started his career as a Web Developer at Theodo and Data Scientist at Sicara. He joined Owkin’s Radiology team as a Data Scientist.
A graduate of Mines ParisTech, Rémy practiced machine learning in both the academic and private sector before joining Owkin. He gained experience in computer vision applied to biomedical images through his Master’s thesis at Curie Institute (Center for BioInformatics). Rémy then joined Owkin to apply his skills to radiology projects.
After academic training in mathematics, Jean-Baptiste graduated from the Paris-Saclay University with a Masters in Mathematics for Life Sciences and a Specialization in Mathematics for Neuroimaging. He completed his PhD in applied mathematics at Ecole Polytechnique and the Aramis Lab (Brain and Spine Institute/ICM, Hôpital de la Pitié Salpêtrière). There, he worked on modeling the temporal progression of neurological diseases such as Alzheimer’s. During his Postdoc at Télécom ParisTech, he focused on using AI to automatically detect epileptic seizures. Jean-Baptiste joined Owkin’s Radiology team as a Data Scientist.
Paul is a radiology resident, finishing his medical studies at Paris Descartes University. In addition to his medical training, he earned an MSc in Cognitive Sciences at ENS. He joined Owkin’s Lab to build up his machine learning skills while contributing his medical expertise to radiology projects.
After graduating from Ecole Normale Supérieure, Félix completed his PhD at Université Paris Sorbonne and Inserm, working on statistics applied to type 1 diabetes epidemiology. He then joined Owkin’s Clinical Data team to focus on personalized medicine and genomics.
Paul graduated from Ecole Normale Supérieure with a Master’s Degree in Machine Learning and Computer Vision (MVA). After graduating, he worked at MILA, the Québec Artificial Intelligence Institute in Montreal, working on natural language processing. He then joined Owkin’s Clinical Data team as a Data Scientist.
Michael graduated as an Engineer from Ensimag. He completed his PhD at Grenoble and Université Paris Sud studying probabilistic models in evolutionary biology before completing his post doc studies in bioinformatics at the University of Michigan. Before Owkin he worked as a CNRS researcher developing biostatistical and machine learning models for analysing molecular data with applications in ecology and medicine. Michael has authored 50 scientific publications, from which several have been published in top-tier biology and health science journals.
Romuald graduated from Supélec with an engineering degree in Computer Sciences and Machine Learning. He then worked at Orange for 12 years, doing IT architecture and later technical project management. Because he missed science & programming, he went back to study Statistics and Machine Learning at ENSAE. For a year, he worked at INRIA on a research project to decode manually annotated functional MRI. He then joined Owkin’s Clinical Data team as a Data Scientist.
Nicolas Loiseau graduated from ENSAE ParisTech with a degree in Data Science and from Ecole Polytechnique with a degree in Advanced Visual Computing. He worked at Qynapse to develop prediction models and optimize Alzheimer’s disease clinical trials. Nicolas is now Data Scientist in the Clinical Data Group, focusing on clinical observational and experimental data.
A graduate of Ecole polytechnique and ENS Paris-Saclay, Mathieu completed his training with a PhD in Deep Learning and Signal Processing at ENS Paris. He joined Owkin Lab as a Senior Data Scientist to focus on federated learning.
Jean graduated from Supélec, where he majored in Applied Mathematics (MATIS). He went on to apply and develop algorithms in a variety of environments, from the LHC particle accelerator in Geneva to a web analytics startup in California. Shortly after getting his degree, he started a PhD in Deep Learning for the defense sector, where he pioneered new automatic object detection techniques for Safran. He joined Owkin as a Machine Learning Engineer to help with the implementation of distributed deep learning solutions.
Olivier graduated from ECE Paris. After doing research at Inserm on deep learning applied to neuroscience for education and electroencephalography signal processing, he joined the Owkin Lab team to focus on computer vision and machine learning infrastructure. He is now a Machine Learning Engineer at Owkin.
Fabien graduated from both Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne and ISAE-Supaéro, where he focused on applied mathematics. He then joined Owkin as a Machine Learning Engineer.
Thaïs graduated from Supélec and Heriot Watt, where she majored in Artificial Intelligence. She then worked on creating neural networks with evolutionary algorithms at a startup in Berlin. She went on to develop and manage a web application for the National Center of Cinematography. Thaïs is now working at Owkin as a Machine Learning Project Manager.
Jean-François graduated from the ENSIMAG, where he studied Applied Mathematics and Computer Science. Prior to joining Owkin, he worked as an Engineer at Dassault Systèmes for 6 years. He also worked on a personal project on Computer Vision, which led to the creation of a Machine Learning framework parallelized on the GPU. Jean-François is now working for Owkin’s Machine Learning Development team as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer.
Elodie graduated from Université Denis Diderot (Paris 7) with a European Magister in Genetics, before completing her PhD in Oncology and Hematology at Institut Gustave Roussy, where she focused on epigenetic mutations involved in leukemia development. She moved to New York as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Research in Ross Levine’s laboratory, where she co-led several projects on the genetics of leukemia. She is now a Scientist on Owkin’s Translational Research team.
Alberto graduated as a theoretical physicist from Università degli Studi Milano-Bicocca in Italy, where he completed his PhD on deformed supersymmetric field theories. After a few years working on high energy theoretical physics as a postdoc (Université Paris-Sud, École polytechnique and Universidad Autonoma in Madrid), he shifted his research focus to mathematical and computational neuroscience (Collège de France, Ecole Normale Supérieure and CNRS) and afterwards, to machine learning applied to genomic data (Inserm and École Normale Supérieure). He is now a Translational Research Scientist on Owkin’s Translational Research team.
Aurélie Kamoun graduated from Ecole des Ponts ParisTech (Paris), with a major in Mathematics and Computer Science. She studied Computational Biology at ETH (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zürich), and obtained her PhD in cancer genomics by conducting research on bladder cancer in Institut Curie (Paris). Before joining Owkin, she was a research scientist for 6 years within the french cancer genomics research program CIT, where she worked on the molecular classifications of glioma, prostate cancer, and bladder cancer.
Mathieu graduated from ENS and Mines ParisTech and completed his PhD in Machine Learning applied to Neuroscience at Oxford and Inria. He started his career at Rythm, a neurotech startup, where he directed research and algorithms and led the Morpheo project. He is devoted to deploying AI in a responsible way. He now leads the Owkin Substra platform, devoted to traceable, reproducible and federated machine learning.
Prior to joining Owkin, Jocelyn worked in various roles at Société Générale: from project to program management, with a number of leadership roles, notably in the IT infrastructure team. He has had the opportunity to cover a broad range of technology subjects including data center administration, internal client relationship management, partnership deployment with key providers and implementation of a hybrid cloud strategy.
Ana is a sociologist by training with a Masters in Advanced Sociological Research from University of Bucharest. Prior to Owkin she worked in several startups in Bucharest, Berlin and Paris as a product manager. To date, Ana’s proudest achievement is impacting the functioning of democracy in Romania with Asociatia G2, which she co-founded in 2015. She is now a Product Manager for Socrates at Owkin.
Ali graduated from Esme Sudria with a degree in Software Engineering. Prior to joining Owkin, he held several positions in startups and fintech companies, including Murex, Mphasis-Wyde and Accuity-Fircosoft as a Developer, a Tech Lead and DevOps, respectively. He joined Owkin as Lead DevOps to develop and improve build factory and application deployments as well as to maintain Owkin’s software and systems infrastructure.
Kelvin is a computer science enthusiast and an alumnus of Télécom SudParis. Before joining Owkin as a Back-End Developer, he worked at Netatmo on the use of computer vision and deep learning algorithms for smart cameras and at Prevision.io on machine learning algorithms for the AutoML platform. He is now focused on the Owkin Substra platform, integrating private blockchain technology for machine learning traceability.
Jean-Baptiste graduated from EPITA, and taught himself how to code by creating bots and scripts for video games. He began his career at Winamax in a DevOps role. During his free time, Jean-Baptiste gives IT lessons at ESILV and is also an analyst for a team in e-sport. He joined Owkin as a Security and Site Reliability Engineer to help protect, provide for and progress the software and systems behind all of Owkin.
Loïc is a passionate entrepreneur. He began his career at the flight comparator site, Liligo, as their System Administrator. He was part of the original Liligo team. During this 7 year role, he improved all the infrastructure necessary to ensure the company could offer top quality service for millions of customers. In addition to this, he spent the 3 years before Owkin working as a Systems Engineer at Winamax, an online poker and sports betting company. He now holds the position of Site Reliability Engineer at Owkin.
Olivier holds a computer engineering degree. He started his career at Owkin as a DevOps Developer to improve the Socrates software development infrastructure.
Passionate about entrepreneurship and graphic interfaces, Hamdy started to learn web development at engineering school, where he specialized in Biotechnology. He is a self-taught coder, who implemented projects with and for friends and did an internship for a local trader in Spain before expanding his knowledge online doing personal projects.
Ludovic graduated from IUT Orléans. He started his career as a Full-Stack Developer at Sculpteo before joining Owkin’s Product team.
Christophe graduated from Epitech. He worked for a few years Société Générale, first on hold the DevOps and Data Science teams and then as a Developer on the Cloud team. He joined Owkin as a Back-End Developer.
Romain graduated from EPF Sceaux. Prior to Owkin, he worked as a Full-Stack Developer at Nexworld. He joined Owkin as a Front-End Developer on the Socrates team.
Jérémy graduated from Centrale Nantes and Politecnico di Milano. After a few years working abroad, he settled back in France as a Software Engineer specialized in Front-End Development. He is now part of the Owkin Substra platform development team.
A problem solving enthusiast, Thibault came from fundamental physics to software development looking for dynamic and ever-evolving projects. During his last role as a Back-End Developer in a well-known classified ads website in France, he learned to enjoy both developing technical solutions and rising to the associated human challenges. He has now part of Owkin’s Substra team in Nantes as a Back-End Developer.
Clément graduated from Institut Universitaire de Technologie of Le Havre in France. He started his career as a Full-Stack Developer in Paris and joined SensioLabs, an open-source framework editor. As a software architect and consultant, he worked on various projects for media companies like e-TF1 and French television. He is now a DevOps Engineer on the Substra development team.
A graduate of INSA of Rouen, Samuel has ten years of experience as a Back-End Software Engineer in Paris and London. He previously worked on building a cloud-computing platform for agent-based models at Sandtable. He is now part of Owkin’s Substra team in Nantes as a Back-End Developer.
Inal is passionate about computer science and free software. Prior to joining Owkin, he worked for several companies in the web industry, where he led teams and projects to develop sustainable, high traffic applications. He is now focused on building and deploying the Substra project.
Aurélien graduated from EPITA in 2009, specializing in AI. He worked as an intern at Siemens (R&D) on a distributed speech recognition algorithm. After a first experience in the web industry, he became the first full-time employee at Chauffeur-Privé. He then worked at Stack Overflow on their job board product. He is now part of Owkin’s Substra team as a software developer.
Claire graduated from Mines ParisTech. Prior to joining Owkin, she managed construction projects within Paris Airports. Claire joined Owkin as a Senior Project Manager to coordinate the implementation of the Substra platform in Owkin’s partner infrastructures.
Anne-Laure graduated from Ecole polytechnique and Mines ParisTech in Biotechnology. She then worked for two years in the strategy department of the biotech DBV Technologies developing allergy desensitization treatments. She joined Owkin as Project Coordinator for the deployment of the federated learning platform Substra.
