About the role:

Owkin has an ambitious growth strategy focused around data access, diagnostics and biopharma. Corporate development is pivotal to ensure successful and scalable growth. 

As a Corporate Development Associate you will:

  • Help scale the company and consolidate the Owkin ecosystem by investigating partnering opportunities for data access and generation, biomedical AI, diagnostics, target discovery and validation, and clinical development. 
  • Be involved in a wide range of deals: strategic partnerships, licensing to co-development opportunities, acquisitions, and spinouts. 
  • Support investors relation and fundraising activities, preparing Owkin’s scale up growth and exit strategies.

The Corporate Development Associate will report to a Corporate Development Lead and be exposed to leadership teams across the organization. The role will also require intimate collaboration with R&D, Product, Partnerships, Sales, IT, Legal, Finance, and Operations teams.

In particular, you will:

  • Support deal work streams related to data, AI, diagnostics, and biopharma through: 

Research & analysis, both literature review and expert interviews:

  • Research the state of the art of technologies and methods of interest 
  • Perform landscape assessments and identify relevant players in markets of interest
  • Deep-dive on companies / technologies / assets to inform Owkin’s partnering strategy

Supporting deal execution by taking part in: 

  • Discussions with potential strategic partners and M&A targets
  • Due diligence work streams for acquisitions and investments 
  • Creating reports and memos to be shared with the relevant stakeholders

Project management and reporting to support the deals flow: 

  • Ensure fluent collaboration across teams to assess technologies and players of interest 
  • End-to-end project management to monitor progress and communicate across teams  
  • Build reports and materials to be shared across the company and with management
  • Contribute to investor presentations and board materials

Position is based in our Paris, London, Nantes offices or remotely.

About you

We are looking for someone who has a fascination with innovative research and Artificial Intelligence, the future of clinical research, life sciences and medicine, and is passionate about tackling the most complex health challenges. 

  • You have a University Degree with strong scientific or finance background, preferably a Masters/PhD degree in the Sciences, Math, Technology or Finance
  • You have a least 2 years of experience in M&A, consulting, or corporate development in a large tech / healthcare / life sciences organization
  • You are passionate and curious about medical research, life sciences, and AI
  • You are familiar with competitive intelligence and business intelligence analysis
  • You have been involved in strategic or partnering deals with technology companies, data companies (clinical, pathology, omics, spatial omics) and biotech's
  • You are familiar with investor materials, ExCom presentations, and due diligence
  • You have the capacity to both work independently and collaborate with multiple teams across the organization
  • You are hands-on, proactive, articulate and possess integrity, professionalism and no work ego
  • You know how to get things done efficiently: prepare a workplan, execute it, and present outputs to senior management
  • You have the ability to learn quickly on new complex topics, show creative thinking, and you can prioritize and juggle multiple work streams
  • You have excellent communication, presentation and writing skills in English
  • You are a strong computer literate (Google suite, Slack, Salesforce, etc…)
  • You are excited to work hard in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
