About the role:

The Corporate Development / Strategy Intern will contribute to the key strategic initiatives underpinning Owkin’s core business from its federated learning powered data platform to its AI powered target discovery engine, clinical trial solutions and next generation diagnostics tools.

You will work directly with the Corporate Development team and interact with a wide range of other functions in order to understand and deliver on Owkin’s strategic growth objectives. The Corporate Development team is involved in Helping to define overall corporate strategy and investor relations Contributing to Owkin’s strategy for building a pipeline of therapeutic assets, Executing mergers and acquisitions and other strategic transactions/ partnerships, Providing market research, financial analysis, valuation exercises and guidelines to coordinate comprehensive due diligence processes, Coordinating post-merger integration (PMI), monitoring post-acquisition activities, carrying out post-audits

In particular, you will:

  • Researching and reporting on companies in drug discovery and development landscape
  • Researching and reporting on companies in data access and health data landscape
  • Researching and reporting on dry and wet labs landscape
  • Maintaining knowledge base of company profiles
  • Identifying and building relationships with potential partners
  • Working with senior execs and managers to contribute to materials for Owkin’s internal decision meetings, investor presentations, and board meetings
  • Coordinating other tasks and projects as requested by the Corporate Development team and other business units

Position is based in our Paris office.


About you

Required qualifications / experience:

  • Undergraduate degree in Economics / Finance / Accounting / Management or similar with a demonstrated interest in biotech, OR
  • Undergraduate degree in Chemistry / Biology / (Bio)chemical Engineering or similar with a demonstrated interest in business
  • Ability to work full time for 6 months as part of a degree or after graduating
  • Ability and motivation for self-learning
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and respond to requests under tight deadlines and in a dynamic working environment


Preferred qualifications/bonus:

  • Experience working with/ making spreadsheets, presentations
  • Experience/ expertise in competitive landscaping
  • Experience/ expertise in drug discovery and development
  • Experience/ expertise in financial modelling
  • Experience/ qualifications in both bioscience and business
