About the role:

Collaborative research is at the heart of Owkin’s mission. The Grants Officer for consortia & external engagements is responsible for identifying opportunities to build collaborative research projects aligned with Owkin’s vision, to shape their narrative and structure their organization. This involves mapping available grants or calls for projects and building out submissions around them, as well as putting in place the structures and the processes to identify & join relevant submissions organized by third parties. You will be reporting into the Partnership team of Owkin’s data platform.


What you need to achieve

  • Help shape a coherent consortium strategy that drives the growth of Owkin’s data platform
  • Discuss with various KOL (clinicians, AI) the grant opportunities
  • Write with the relevant team support our grants’ submission
  • Structure projects that will positively impact Owkin’s development in the long run
  • Put in place partnerships and relations to key players through well tough-out partnerships
  • Follow-up & check up with Data Platform, R&D and Diagnostics teams to track project participation and maximize transversal benefits for Owkin through these engagements.


In particular, you will:

  • Build robust monitoring tools for identifying open grants, calls, and other related initiatives
  • Develop a framework for opportunity prioritization & decision making
  • Structure proposals and organize submissions keeping in view Owkin IP and legal position
  • Put tools and structures in place to attract & join relevant proposals


Position is based in our Paris or Nantes offices or remotely.


About you

Required qualifications / experience:

  • A masters degree in Public Affairs, Innovation Management, Innovation funding, Business administration, or a masters degree in Biomedical science with exposure to such domains
  • Good level of experience in the drafting and management of grant submissions or in grant consulting (preferably Horizon Europe, IMI/IHI)
  • Experience with public funding & collaborative projects through innovation departments of research institutions or of public institutions funding collaborative research / equivalent
  • Exposure to clinical research / infrastructure / Machine Learning projects is a plus
  • Experience in managing large scale projects and handling short deadlines
  • Ability to create and develop trust-based relationships with partners and internal teams
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Highly organized and meticulous about details; capable of tackling complex problems logically and effectively;
  • Excited to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Passionate about the intersections of Healthcare and AI
  • Fluent in English, Fluent in French is a plus
  • Authorization to work legally in France

As our partners are based across Europe and in the USA, occasional travels can be needed
